# Multiplier

Multiplier tokens give users the chance to win extra tokens on every purchase. There’s a 1% chance to multiply the tokens you receive 4x. If a user buys $100 worth of tokens, they can instead receive $400 worth of tokens. This gives users extra incentive to purchase your token.

There is a maximum amount that can be multiplied determined by the amount of tokens that have been taken as taxes. For example, if there are 1,000 tokens in the pot able to be won, a purchase of 500 tokens can still only receive a 1,000 token reward.

The odds have been determined based on the maximum amount that can be won while avoiding any abuse and allowing the pot to continue growing. With a 1% trading fee, 2% taxes, and a 1% chance to win, after 100 tries the user will have spent 300% of their investment and on average will have won 300%.

Although able to be abused, the 40% of trading fees given to the creator of the token is ignored in these calculations to maximize the amounts users can win. The creator can theoretically game the system with wash trading to drain the pot of tokens, but this would also result in the downfall of their token.

Sells are ignored given limit orders take 0 taxes so they cannot be relied upon in these calculations. Depending on the amount of sells with taxes, the pot could be drained with buys.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://goattrading.gitbook.io/dojo/token-types/multiplier.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
